Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Recall is a personal knowledge and document management application. In this policy, “Recall,” “we,” “our,” and “us” refer to the operator of the Recall application and related services.

2. Information we process

Account information

When you create an account, we may process your name, email address, account identifier, verification status, profile image, and authentication information. Authentication is provided using Supabase. Recall does not intentionally store your raw account password.

Memories and uploaded documents

Recall processes memories, notes, form fields, categories, uploaded documents, filenames, document types, file sizes, extracted text, and other content you intentionally provide.

AI and retrieval information

When you use AI-powered features such as Insights, document extraction, summarization, semantic search, or document question answering, relevant portions of your content and your prompts may be processed to generate the requested response.

Subscription information

Apple processes App Store payments. Recall may receive subscription status, product identifiers, transaction identifiers, purchase dates, and expiration or renewal information needed to provide paid features. Recall does not receive your complete Apple payment-card information.

Technical and diagnostic information

Our infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, request dates, response status, device or browser information, and server diagnostics needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service.

3. How we use information

We process information to:

• Create, authenticate, and protect your account.
• Store and display your memories and uploaded documents.
• Extract, index, organize, and retrieve document information.
• Generate answers and insights requested by you.
• Synchronize information across supported devices.
• Manage subscription access and feature entitlements.
• Respond to support, correction, export, and deletion requests.
• Prevent abuse, investigate errors, and protect the service.
• Meet legal obligations that apply to us.

4. AI processing

Recall provides AI-powered document extraction and retrieval features. When you use these features, selected content may be sent to an AI service, including Google Gemini, to provide the functionality you requested.

We attempt to send only the content reasonably required for the request. AI-generated responses may be incomplete or inaccurate and should not be treated as professional, legal, financial, or medical advice.

AI processing is subject to the technical configuration and applicable terms of the service provider. Do not upload information that you do not have permission to process.

5. Service providers

Recall may use the following categories of service providers:

• Supabase: authentication, database, and storage infrastructure.
• Render: backend application hosting and operational infrastructure.
• Google Gemini: AI processing for enabled extraction, retrieval, and Insights features.
• Apple: App Store distribution, purchases, and subscription billing.

These providers process information only as necessary to provide their respective services and under their own applicable terms and privacy obligations.

6. Sharing and sale of information

Recall does not sell personal information and does not share uploaded content for third-party behavioral advertising.

Information may be disclosed:

• To service providers needed to operate Recall.
• When you direct or authorize the disclosure.
• To protect users, Recall, or the public from fraud or harm.
• When required by applicable law or a valid legal request.
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of the service, subject to appropriate protections.

7. Data retention

We generally retain account information and user-provided content while your account remains active or as needed to provide the service.

When you delete a memory or document, or permanently delete your account, the corresponding active data is scheduled for removal. Limited copies may temporarily remain in backups, security records, transaction records, or logs where operationally or legally necessary.

Subscription transaction records may be retained where necessary to maintain entitlement history, prevent fraud, or meet legal obligations.

8. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access information associated with your account.
• Correct inaccurate profile or account information.
• Delete individual memories and documents.
• Request deletion of your complete account.
• Request a portable copy of eligible account information.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.

You can manage available controls in the Recall application or contact telhawasim@gmail.com.

We may need to verify that you control the relevant account before fulfilling a privacy request.

9. Account and data deletion

Users can delete individual memories and documents or request deletion of their complete account from within Recall.

To delete your account, open Recall and go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.

Account deletion permanently removes associated account data, documents, profile information, and application subscription entitlement records, subject to limited operational or legally required retention.

Deleting your Recall account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription. Subscriptions must be managed through your Apple ID subscription settings.

10. Security

Recall uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss.

No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Keep your account credentials private and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.

11. International processing

Recall and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different privacy and data-protection rules.

Where required, we use appropriate legal and contractual safeguards for international processing.

12. Children’s privacy

Recall is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children who cannot legally consent to the processing.

If you believe a child has provided personal information without proper authorization, contact us so we can investigate and remove it where required.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date and version shown at the top will be updated when changes are published.

If a change materially affects how information is processed, we will provide additional notice where appropriate or legally required.
